Northern Ireland's official Programme for Government has confirmed contentious plans to cull the number of councils in the country.

Northern Ireland's official Programme for Government has confirmed contentious plans to cull the number of councils in the country from 26 to 11.

Stormont's formal policy agenda was confirmed on 18 November and also contained a surprise decision by the country's politicians to guarantee every child a free year of pre-school education.
