Pickles plots seaside rejuvenation

Communities secretary Eric Pickles today invited seaside towns to bid for a share of a £24m fund designed to kick-start ailing coastal economies.

Mr Pickles and Treasury chief secretary, Danny Alexander, launched the Coastal Communities Fund, which will invest cash directly into rejuvenating traditional seaside assets, or emerging industry that will help diversify local economies.
