Plymouth 'bans' Unison from crucial talks

Plymouth City Council bans Unison from talks over sweeping changes to staff terms and conditions.

Plymouth City Council has effectively banned the public sector's largest trade body – Unison – from talks over sweeping changes to staff terms and conditions, a move described by the union as 'aggressive and disproportionate'.

In a highly unusual move, Plymouth said it would no longer 'recognise' Unison as a negotiator for staff in ongoing talks over adjustments to staff working hours, overtime practices and expenses.
