Prout to leave DCLG

David Prout, director general of localism at the Department for Communities and Local Government, is to leave the post to become the new head of the High Speed 2 rail project.

David Prout, director general of localism at the Department for Communities and Local Government, is to leave the post to become the new head of the High Speed 2 rail project.

Mr Prout will be replaced at the DCLG by the highly-regarded Simon Ridley, who is currently Eland House's finance director but will now serve as Whitehall's acting head of localism.
