Scots extend mandarins' no-redundancy deal

The Scottish Government has reached an agreement with the trade union, the FDA, to extend its ‘no compulsory redundancy’ agreement.

The Scottish Government has reached an agreement with the mandarins' trade union, the FDA, to extend its ‘no compulsory redundancy' agreement until March 2012.

The deal covers all civil servants, including quango staff, and was formalised following talks between the Cabinet secretary for finance, John Swinney, and senior trade unionists.
