Public bodies must improve their data sharing regime to successfully tackle social challenges such as troubled families issues, the chair of the Communities and Local Government Committee has told The MJ.

Clive Betts this week urged policymakers to keep a close eye on the unintended ‘bottlenecks' preventing councils and their partners from successful oversight and implementation of policies such as the £400m Troubled Families programme.
