For a sector that prides itself on fairness and equality, the history of single status pay claims is a disgrace, says Heather Jameson

Every day is a learning experience. 

Except for the days you fail to learn and just blithely carry on making the same errors over and over again. It was ever thus with equal pay – and now councils are paying the price of their past mistakes. Repeatedly.
