Sir Bob Kerslake, the current permanent secretary at the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has been announced as the next Head of the Civil Service.

Sir Bob, a former chief executive at both Sheffield City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, will assume his expanded role following an appointment process overseen by Sir David Normington.
