Social care 'must have more cash' to improve

Councils warn about the attempts to improve the quality of social care in the UK following the publication of the white paper on care.

Attempts to improve the quality of social care in the UK are ‘meaningless' without an immediate injection of cash into the system, councils have warned following publication of the Government's long-awaited White Paper on care.

Health secretary, Andrew Lansley, and care minister, Paul Burstow, finally made public their initial plans to improve social care on 11 July, outlining a renewed focus on individuals' needs.
