It's easy to get carried away with the latest fad, buzzword, strategy, time spent creating the next big thing that no-one else has done or thought of yet. It can raise profiles and often wins awards.

There is a well-rehearsed argument that suggests strategy and execution is the ultimate combination for success. However, what also makes an excellent organisation is how well you carry out the common mundane practices and processes that people rely on and have contact with every day. The trouble is, ‘mundane' isn't a sexy word.
