The Supreme Court today blocked a government bid to challenge a landmark ruling that Sharon Shoesmith former head of children's services at Haringey LBC was unfairly sacked following the 'Baby P' case.

The Court of Appeal ruled in May that Ms Shoesmith was not dismissed in line with employment law.
