The London Assembly has called on mayor Boris Johnson to oppose blanket charging of children’s play areas.

The London Assembly has called on mayor Boris Johnson to oppose blanket charging of children's play areas in a bid to increase youth social development across the capital.

In a motion passed on Wednesday 21 July, Darren Johnson AM, pointed to the 'false economy' of charging children to use play areas, warning that councils should be encouraging London's children to get out and get active and not putting up 'barriers' that will hit the poorest families, hardest.
