Councils are housing an extra secondary school's worth of homeless children each month, placing fresh pressure on budgets for temporary accommodation, new research has found.

A study by the Local Government Association (LGA) revealed that the number of homeless children councils have had to house in temporary accommodation has increased by more 37% over the last three years.
