Ed Miliband has appointed three senior local government leaders to advise the Labour Party on how to develop effective policies amid continuing austerity.

Mr Miliband asked Cllr Sir Richard Leese, leader of Manchester City Council, Cllr Sharon Taylor, leader of Stevenage BC, and Jules Pipe, mayor of Hackney LBC, to lead a taskforce dedicated to influencing Labour's future policy programme.
