Councils should not bear the financial burden of registering 120,000 children who qualify for UK citizenship after Brexit, Britain's trade union movement has warned.

In a motion to the annual Trades Union Congress (TUC) approved today, the workforce movement issued a warning over the ‘exorbitant' and ‘prohibitively high' registration fee of £1,012 that some children, their parents or guardians will have to pay for citizenship rights.
