Local government's largest trade union has urged Shropshire CC not to proceed with plans to sack 6,500 staff and re-hire them with a 6% pay cut.

Unison claims that an alternative package of cost-saving measures outlined by its researchers on 12 July could help the county avoid damaging staff relations with its enforced wage cuts proposal.
