The Unite trade union has rejected Government plans to reform council pension schemes.

The Unite trade union has rejected Government plans to reform council pension schemes – throwing the sector's provisional pre-Christmas agreement on future retirement plans into disarray.

Unite general secretary, Len McCluskey, said his members no longer trusted communities secretary Eric Pickles, who has been leading the Government's negotiations over the £150bn Local Government Pension Scheme.
