Ministers must provide the sector with better access to ongoing Brexit negotiations or risk leaving councils unable to cope with new demands on services, a local authority chief executive has warned.

Speaking to The MJ, Cornwall Council boss, Kate Kennally, said that councils' ability to tackle austerity and demand-related capacity issues was being hindered by the lack of access to data that accurately reflects the projected outcomes of Brexit talks.
