Volunteer award fund backs Big Society health pledge

The DoH has today launched the Volunteering Fund National Awards to boost the government¹s capital injection into modernising the NHS.

The Department of Health has today launched the Volunteering Fund National Awards to boost the government¹s capital injection into modernising the NHS.

Funding of £6m will be divided between thirteen charitable organisations over three years, based on excellence criteria in areas including patient-led NHS, delivering better health outcomes, improving public health and improving health and social care.
