Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) hoteliers will vote on the introduction of a tourist tax in April as the authority withdraws direct funding amid budget pressures.

Guests at 70 of the area's largest hotels could be charged an extra £2.20 per room each night as the industry seeks to maintain the funding needed to keep coastal beaches clean and tourist attractions running.
