Calls to halt trials of voter ID have been renewed after Cabinet Office documents showed it could cost £20m to roll out.

Calls to halt trials of voter ID have been renewed after Cabinet Office documents showed it could cost £20m to roll out.

The financial implications are revealed in the Government's evaluation of the trials carried out at May's local elections in Bromley, Gosport, Swindon, Watford and Woking. Extra costs are attributed to computer equipment, staff, administration and training.
