WLGA warning over FOI costs

Councils in Wales have warned that Whitehall's Freedom of Information Act is putting fresh strain on scarce frontline resources.

Councils in Wales have warned that Whitehall's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is putting fresh strain on scarce frontline resources.

According to recent figures, the number of FOIA requests made to councils in Wales has soared from 3,530 in 2005 to 9,304 last year.
