The Welsh Government will be able to force councils to pilot election reforms if necessary under legislation making its way through the Senedd.

An amendment to the Elections and Elected Bodies (Wales) Bill was proposed yesterday that would have removed powers to conduct pilots ‘without local authority consent'.
