Local authorities have a crucial role to play in the Government's drive for economic growth – but require its support to do so, The MJ Future Forum Midlands has heard.

The region's councils spoke of their optimism and planned projects amid the advent of investment zones and arrival of HS2 in the Midlands, but cautioned that they would need backing.
