Local government minister Simon Hoare has written to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on behalf of councils concerned over requests to visit funeral directors.

Councils have been asked to visit premises in their areas to ‘provide assurance' to the public after two funeral directors in Hull were arrested on suspicion of fraud and prevention of a decent burial.
