Serco has warned profits are likely to take a hit as it presses ahead with the transfer of contracts from Carillion.

In a trading update released last week, Serco Group chief executive, Rupert Soames, said the acquisition of a portfolio of health facilities management contracts would have a ‘negative impact' on net profitability for the financial year. However, the firm has reported it expects trading profit to have increased by 20%.
