Shared effort can create beautiful outcomes

In North Yorkshire, communities stand in solidarity with Ukrainians as a symbol of hope that even in darkness, light will prevail, says Paul Shevlin.

The situation in Ukraine continues to be horrendous and since the Russian invasion began, millions of desperate and proud Ukrainians – mainly women and children – have had to flee their beloved country.

Communities and charities across the UK have stepped up to help the refugees. In North Yorkshire, the unity shown by communities willing to help Ukrainians has been impressive and humbling.
