Slough deficit to top £300m

The forecast figure stood at £174m when Slough issued a Section 114 notice earlier this year.

The estimated deficit faced by Slough Council has ballooned to more than £300m.

Section 151 officer Steven Mair told the authority's audit committee work to turn around the council's finances had uncovered financial pressures amounting to £308m by 2024-25.
