Surge in costly care placements

The number of children’s care placements costing £10,000 or more per week has soared by more than 1,000%, a new survey has revealed.

The number of children's care placements costing £10,000 or more per week has soared by more than 1,000%, a new survey has revealed.

The Local Government Association (LGA) found that the figure has increased from 120 in 2018-19, to 1,510 in 2022-23.
