Transport Solent loses largest contributor

Hampshire CC has confirmed it is to pull out of a regional transport group in a cost-cutting measure.

The departure leaves just Southampton and Portsmouth city councils, and Isle of Wight Council, as members of Solent Transport.

Hampshire concluded its membership was 'no longer considered to offer value for money', according to an officers' report.
