Urban councils have voiced concern over new rules that could prevent them from recovering council tax debts.

Urban councils have voiced concern over new rules that could prevent them from recovering council tax debts.

The Government has written to councils reminding them of the introduction in May of its Breathing Space scheme, which aims to protect people in debt by suspending enforcement action, and freezing charges, fees and certain interest for up to 60 days.
