Another year is over and a new one has just begun – I am sure we all hope it’s a good one.
The year always ends in traditions – the turkey on Christmas day, Auld Lang Syne on New Year’s Eve, and the sector’s financial settlement on the last sitting day of Parliament – despite previous Government commitments to publishing these at the beginning of December to provide greater certainty for councils.
