Coventry bin dispute escalates after ACAS ruling

The ongoing strike by Coventry refuse workers could stretch into the summer after a fierce war of words escalated between the council and union Unite.

Coventry City Council called on the union to end the strike, which started at the end of January, after revealing that the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) had ruled that its bin lorry drivers were already being paid an appropriate rate.
