DCLG ‘light-touch’ fuels homeless rise

Soaring homelessness levels have been described as a ‘national scandal’ after auditors warned ministers were failing to evaluate the impact of their reforms.

A National Audit Office (NAO) report this week blamed the Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) ‘light-touch approach’ and the Government’s welfare policies for driving dramatic increases in homelessness.
