Leader praises Haringey improvements

The leader of Haringey LBC has praised the authority’s long-term response to the ‘Baby P’ scandal on the tenth anniversary of Peter Connelly’s tragic death.

Writing for TheMJ.co.uk on 3 August, Cllr Claire Kober outlined the improvements made at Haringey in the 10 years since Peter died following injuries inflicted by some his carers. The case sent shockwaves through the country after it was revealed that Peter had been monitored by Haringey’s social services department – and that potential opportunities to save him were missed.
