More than 400 councils allow companies to track website visitors

Information about users of council websites – including those seeking help on sensitive issues – are being shared with dozens of private firms, an investigation has found.

More than 400 local authorities allow at least one third-party company to track individuals who visit their sites, according to anonymous web browser Brave.
