The sustainability of the ‘Cinderella’ local government audit market will be ‘difficult to achieve,’ an independent review has warned.
Research by consultancy Touchstone Renard for Public Sector Audit Appointments, the organisation responsible for appointing council auditors, found a lack of experienced local authority auditors was the main threat to future sustainability.
