Bexley bin strike in temporary reprise

Refuse workers in Bexley LBC have called a temporary halt to strikes while pay negotiations are ongoing.

Local government union Unite said workers for contractor Countrystyle Recycling would pause the action until 19 August.Acting national officer for the union, Clare Keogh, said: ‘Following extensive negotiations held at Acas, sufficient progress was made to allow Unite to suspend strike action.’
