Cabinet Office to review new Sue Gray role

The Cabinet Office is reviewing the proposed move of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities' second permanent secretary, Sue Gray, to a key Labour role.

Ms Gray, who conducted the investigation into illegal gatherings at Downing Street during the pandemic, has been offered the role of chief of staff to opposition leader Keir Starmer.
