Council energy firms lose £100m

Council-owned energy firms have lost more than £100m over four years, according to new analysis.

Energy firms set-up by councils suffered losses of more than £114m between 2016-17 and 2019-20, figures calculated by the Taxpayers’ Alliance campaign group have shown.
