Councils defend housing enforcement record

Councils have defended their record of enforcing housing standards in the private rented sector as they appeared before the Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee.

Committee chair Clive Betts highlighted a ‘stark’ difference between local authorities in their use of civil enforcement, suggesting more could be done by the majority of the sector.
