Heseltine sacked over Brexit rebellion

A former cabinet minister who penned an influential report that convinced Whitehall to drive growth in the regions has been sacked as a government adviser.

Tory grandee Lord Heseltine, who most recently chaired an independent panel that developed Whitehall’s new national strategy on housing regeneration, was fired after he rebelled in the House of Lords over fears Parliament would not get a ‘meaningful’ vote on the final Brexit deal.
