Is Government brave enough for post-pandemic reform?

As we hurtle rapidly towards next week’s elections, local government is – as always – becoming increasingly irked at the media tendency to view local polls as nothing more than a glorified popularity contest for the national political parties.

But when it comes to national politics, what exactly will we be left with when the dust settles on the pandemic? When we are all jabbed up, unlocked and back to reality, how will a Government defined by Brexit and COVID position itself when it no longer needs to firefight?
