Spooks at the National Cyber Security Centre helpfully drew up an ‘assessment of the cyber threat to elections’ ahead of the local elections.

Less helpful was the fact that many councils only received it six days before the polls, with it being belatedly passed on to chief executives just before the bank holiday weekend.
