The varying models of local authority trading companies

On top of the 30% reduction councils faced in government funding between 2010 and 2015, they face a further drop of 6.7% in funding from then until 2020. So, how are they going to meet this challenge and still provide the services that the public wants and needs?

One of the many proposals has been the creation of commercial companies that the council can own, ultimately increasing efficiency, reducing costs and making a profit for the benefit of the local community.
