It feels like there isn’t a week going by without at least one story about how local authority X or Y is starting to show worrying signs towards being financially unsustainable.
These stories are becoming more frequent, but what is also becoming more apparent is this is less about ‘governance issues’ or issues that can be passed off as mismanagement, but something more basic.
