The local government watchdog’s chief executive has said the collapse of councils such as Woking and Thurrock should not have been allowed to happen.
Failures at Woking BC and Thurrock Council were highlighted as ‘embarrassing for the sector as a whole’ by the Office for Local Government (Oflog)’s chief executive Josh Goodman when he spoke to the Local Government Association’s councillors’ forum yesterday.
