Digital transformation isn’t about technology, it’s about people, as Barry Pirie explains
Writing this column, I find myself at my council offices at a hotdesk, working with nothing more than a laptop and a phone. I am looking out at our atrium, where members of the public are using our free wi-fi. Many of our council buildings are now home to some of the county’s blue light services who share the building with council staff and other partners.
We wouldn’t have been doing things like this five years ago and the reason it is all possible isn’t just because of technology, but because we made a decision to embrace technology to reshape the way we work at Wiltshire Council.
