It’s a sign of how successful the broad shared services agenda has become in the last decade that to detail all the radical, innovative schemes would require a work longer than Tolstoy’s War and Peace – or perhaps Cervantes’ Don Quixote.
But looking at an overall view, a series of lessons and best practice examples can be found in a number of specific schemes – and they certainly aren’t Quixotic.
