Authorities told to choose private partners carefully

Councils should be cautious when choosing a private sector partner for joint ventures, the chief executive of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority has warned.

Speaking at the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) Summit in Manchester last week, Eammon Boylan said the current ‘crisis in confidence’ in public-private partnerships should not discourage councils from going into joint ventures.
